Nutritional Therapy uses an evidence-based approach to promote optimal health through the use of dietary and lifestyle adaptations tailored to the individual. Food has been used as medicine throughout the ages and there is a constantly growing body of research highlighting the importance of nutrition to facilitate overall health and wellbeing.
At Higher Healing, we focus on assessing and improving the performance, of all body systems that may be under stress, bringing them into balance through addressing any functional and nutritional imbalances that may exist.
The body systems that we look to assess are:
- Gut Health
- Respiratory System
- Musculoskeletal System
- Energy and Metabolism
- Cardiovascular System
- Nervous System
- Immune System
- Women’s Health
- Men’s Health
- Skin Health
- Mental Health
When we see the body as a whole (holistically), we understand that each of these body systems impacts one another. If one body system is out of balance, then it places a burden on the other systems to help it cope. In turn, the body as a whole prioritises certain bodily functions per our survival needs.
As our health deteriorates, systems such as the reproductive system and even digestion can get de-prioritised. The body is simply trying to stay as balanced as possible, even when there is a shortage of resources. We will however see and feel, that our body is trying to talk to us, through the display of symptoms – it is letting us know that it needs help.
When it comes to our physiology, each one of us is very unique in the way our body functions, therefore from a nutritional perspective, the ‘one size fits all’ model simply doesn’t work. Our comprehensive consultations are designed to dig deep into all aspects of each body system to ensure we understand what makes you tick.
